NEWS
--Today is the Little Falls Community School District referendum vote. Polls are open today from 7:00am-8:00pm. Voters will decide on a two part bond referendum. Question one is on $19.67 million largely devoted towards maintenance. Question two is on $12.645 million including the construction of a gymnasium recreation addition to the high school. Question two can only pass if question one does too. Polling places for those who live in the city of Little Falls Ward #1 and Ward #2, along with Agram, Belle Prairie, Bellevue, Buh, Little Falls, Platte, Ripley and St. Mathias Township all vote at the Little Falls Community Middle School. Those who reside in the cities of Flensburg and Little Falls Ward #3, or in Culdrum, Elmdale, Flensburg, Green Prairie, Pike Creek, Swan River and Swanville Townships all vote at Lincoln Elementary Schools. Those who live in the city of Randall, or Cushing, Darling, Little Elk, Parker and Turtle Creek Townships vote at Dr. S.G. Knight Elementary in Randall. Any eligible voter who resides in the Little Falls School District may vote regardless if they own property or not. An unregistered voter may register to vote at the polling place. If you need to register bring a photo ID and proof of residence. If a property owner wishes to learn of the tax impact if one or both parts of the referendum pass, call Ehlers Education Team at 1-800-552-1171.

--A 53-year-old from St. Paul was injured Sunday around 4:00pm on Highway 371 south of Fort Ripley. Kay Morrissey apparently reached down for an item causing her vehicle to roll off the roadway and crash into the ditch. Morrissey suffered non life threatening injuries.

--A two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 10 in Benton County near County Road 40 known as the half-way crossing left four people injured Sunday around 5:00pm. 49-year-old Scott Schumacher of Detroit Lakes, was eastbound on 155th Street and did not yield at Highway 10, and was broadsided by 41-year-old Kelly Rajkowski of Sartell as that vehicle was southbound on Highway 10. Rajkowski and passenger 69-year old Susan Frank of St. Joseph suffered injuries that the State Patrol did not consider life-threatening. Three others in the vehicle including two children did not have any apparent injuries. Schumacher and his passenger 18-year old Sarah Schumacher of Detroit Lakes suffered non life threatening injuries.

--Jury selection was Monday for Nathan Becker who is charged with aiding and abetting Tyler Cronquist in the shooting at a Brainerd residence in January, 2015 which killed Joseph Kroll and seriously injured Chesley Crawford. Becker was found competent back in March to stand trial in the case. The trial is scheduled to begin May 16th.

--The Brainerd Police Department around 10:00am Saturday found a body in Boom Lake near Kiwanis Park in Brainerd. Initial indications are that the body is of 23-year-old Brandon Rich of Brainerd who was missing since last Wednesday. The body was in six feet of water four blocks from Rich's home. The body was taken to Ramsey County for positive identification and to determine the cause of death.

--The Morrison County Commissioners meets today at 9am the government center boardroom.

--We are only days away from 2016 graduation ceremonies at area schools. Royalton graduates on May 20th, Swanville, Holdingford and Pierz on May 27th, Upsala May 28th, Little Falls on May 29th and Foley graduates on June 4th.

--A 44-year-old Perham man was arrested early Monday morning after the vehicle he was driving hit a tree in Two Rivers Township. Bradley McClendon was traveling east on Great River Road shortly after 2:00am when his vehicle ran off the road, collided with a tree and caught fire. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office stated that McClendon refused medical treatment and was arrested for outstanding warrants.

--A Brainerd man who was at large after an alleged assault and arson was arrested by the Onamia Police Department Sunday night. 38-year old Enoch Harrison Stapleton III was arrested shortly before 6:00pm Sunday. Stapleton was transported to the Crow Wing County Jail where he is awaiting formal charges. Police were seeking Stapleton after an assault was reported at 3:15pm Thursday at a residence on the 300 block of Gillis Avenue Northeast. The assault victim fled the scene with his dog and called police. When authorities arrived to investigate the report, they found the residence filled with smoke. Authorities believe the fire was intentionally set by the suspect after the resident fled. Further investigation revealed the resident most likely interrupted a burglary in progress.

--Motorists who use the Highway 15/County Road 33/Benton Drive interchange in Sauk Rapids should plan alternate routes and additional time for travel after all ramps at the interchange close at 6:00am, Monday, May 16. The ramps are scheduled to open Friday, May 20th. The ramp closures were originally scheduled May 9–13, and have been postponed due to forecasted rain. No signed detour will be posted. Motorists should consider using the Highway 15/County Road 29 intersection, about one mile north of the Highway 15/County Road 33/Benton Drive interchange, or seek their own alternate route.

--Police in Rogers confirmed a 49-year-old woman is dead after apparently leaping from a moving vehicle late Sunday afternoon. A pickup driven by a 54-year-old Otsego man was northbound on Brockton Lane near 147th Avenue around 4:00pm when the female passenger either jumped or fell from the vehicle. It's believed the truck was traveling at around 60 mph at the time of the incident. The man and woman were returning from a Mother's Day gathering when the fatal incident occurred. A family driving the opposite direction saw what happened and stopped to render aid. The driver is cooperating with authorities and witness statements are being taken by police.

TWINS= Twins and Orioles rained out Monday. Twins will try and continue series with Baltimore tonight, pregame 6:30pm on Q92. LYNX= Lynx resign former Gopher Janelle McCarville for the season, she played with the Lynx in 2014. The Lynx open the regular season Saturday night vs. Phoenix where they will receive their 2015 WNBA championship rings.
