--The City of Pierz will have their 125th Anniversary celebration tonight at Pierz Park. From 3:00-8:00pm there will be live music from local bands, lots of food and more items intended to commemorate 125 years of the Pierz Community. All is free to attend later today.

--Two Pierz residents were injured Monday afternoon in a two vehicle crash at U.S. Highway 10 and 155th Street Northwest in Langola Township. The Minnesota State Patrol reports 63-year old Lawrence Korf and 62-year old Joyce Korf, both of Pierz, were hurt when the pickup they were driving was struck by a vehicle driven by 58-year old Carol Walter of Eagan. Walter was traveling west on Highway 10 about 2:50pm approaching 155th Street when the vehicle left the road, struck the embankment and launched into the air. Its tires struck the driver side window of the pickup, which had stopped for a stop sign at the intersection. The Korf's were transported to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Carol Walter and her passenger William Walter were not hurt.

--An 18-year old man was injured last Friday in an ATV accident in Fort Ripley. Crow Wing County deputies stated that Zachary Neuhring of Little Falls was on an ATV on 273rd Street in Fort Ripley when he collided with a deer. Neuhring was taken by private party to the hospital in Little Falls and treated for unknown injuries.

--A passenger was injured in a two-vehicle accident Sunday morning around 10:00am on Red Pine Road in Brainerd. 58-year old Loretta Fallgren of Robbinsdale was west on the road, stopped at a stop sign and was struck by 45-year old Michael Stoltman of Brainerd. Both drivers were not injured. Stoltman's passenger, 44-year old Kerriann Stoltman of Brainerd was treated for injuries at an area hospital.

--A 24-year old Minneapolis woman was injured Saturday when she fell off an ATV in Merrifield. Crow Wing County stated that Aranzazu Caceres was taken to the hospital for her injuries. She was a passenger on an ATV driven by 31-year old Michael Rueb of Forest Lake who was not injured.

--A 41-year old Brainerd man was injured last Friday after falling from a golf cart at the Brainerd International Raceway. Around 11:30pm, BIR security stated that Jeremy Bradbury sustained a head injury from the fall. He was taken to the Brainerd hopsital for treatment.

--Authorities have a boy in jail in a fatal shooting at a mobile home park in eastern Minnesota. Pine County dispatchers received a call about shots fired at the Pine Terrace Trailer Park late Friday afternoon. The caller reported a man on the ground bleeding. When deputies and emergency management services arrived they found a man in his 20's with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses identified a juvenile suspect who was taken into custody in neighboring Kanabec County. The name of the victim was not released.

--Richmond Mayor James Hemmesch was convicted Thursday of a misdemeanor for making unlawful expenditures with gambling profits. On Thursday, the judge stayed a 90 day sentence and placed Hemmesch on one year's probation. Hemmesch must also serve 80 hours of community service. Hemmesch was originally charged with a felony in May 2016, but a plea deal was reached that reduced the charge to a misdemeanor.

--Ed Larsen, former Crow Wing County commissioner and Pequot Lakes mayor and educator, passed away Wednesday in St. Cloud Hospital. He was 76 years old.

--Tomorrow is the start of the Morrison County Fair. KLTF Party Line will be live at the fair at 10:00am. Tomorrow is Military Day. Pig Races at 1:00pm sponsored by Little Falls Radio. Events through the afternoon and evening with Shalo Lee Band playing at night, cash drawing at 10:00pm and at the grandstand tomorrow night is the tuff truck and car competition at 7:00pm. Also Thursday, Horizon Health has their senior program including annoucing the oustanding senior citizens for Morrison County who will continue on to the state fair. --A Rice man was air lifted to the hospital after a diving accident Monday night in Benton County. The incident happened around 5:45pm on Little Rock Lake. Sheriff Troy Heck says 22-year old Mark Kruger and his father were boating on the lake when their motor broke down. Kruger decided to swim to shore to get help and dove head first into the water. The boat was in about two feet of water when Kruger dove in, and hit his head on something under the water, causing him to lose all movement in his legs and limited movement in his arms. Kruger’s father jumped into the water to help his son until medical assistance arrived. Kruger was taken to shore and air lifted to North Memorial Hospital. He remains in stable condition.

--The Brainerd Police Department will soon outfit its police officers with body cameras. The Brainerd City Council Monday night approved purchasing 24 Axon body cameras at a first-year cost of $37,902. The five year contract will carry an annual cost of $23,680 for years two through five. The department's 2017 capital budget includes $40,000 for body cameras. The annual cost for the following four years includes an unlimited data storage plan for video generated by the cameras. Brainerd Police Chief Corky McQuiston said the department should be outfitted with the body cameras by late October.

--A 28-year old St. Joseph woman was injured just after noon Monday when she collided with a semi that pulled out in front of her on Highway 10 at North Gateway Drive in Rice. Jennifer Susan Petersen attempted to stop and swerved to avoid the semi, but hit the front driver's side of the semi cab. Petersen was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The semi driver, 62-year old Elizabeth Trakel of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin was not injured.

--The Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities Thursday recognized Brainerd City Administrator Jim Thoreen for his excellent service to greater Minnesota. The Excellence in Service Award is given annually to a city leader who demonstrates knowledge, leadership and active participation in CGMC program areas over the past year.
