The Morrison County Department of Public Works wishes to notify the Public of its intention to conduct a controlled burn at Belle Prairie Park. When conditions at the park are appropriate the department will be working with a private contractor to perform the prescribed burn. It is expected that this will occur during the first week of November. The burn will take place mainly in the oak wood lot area of the park. The burn is being conducted to continue to reduce invasive species such as Buckthorn and Prickly Ash. The burn will also eliminate leaf clutter and provide nutrients to the soil promoting the return of the native vegetative species. Belle Prairie Park will be closed when the burn is conducted. Anyone with questions may contact the Morrison County Public Works at 320-632-0121.
