Rice man critically injured Sunday in golf cart vs truck accident

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 2 vehicle personal injury accident between a pickup truck and a golf cart on Sunday. About 3:10pm, the accident occurred in the 10700 block West Lake Rd in Watab Township. Responding deputies found that 77-year old Edward Ringwelski of Rice had been driving his golf cart southbound on West Lake Rd when it collided with a pickup truck that was backing onto West Lake Road out of a driveway. Ringwelski was critically injured in the accident and lifesaving efforts were undertaken by first responders. Ringwelski was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital where he remains in critical condition. The driver of the pickup truck, 45-year old James Truwe of Medina was not injured in the collision.
