Severe storms raised havoc on central Minnesota last night causing heavy rains, hail, strong winds and possible tornadoes. The National Weather Service is out investigating areas where straight line winds near 80 miles per hour in Grant, Otter Tail and Becker County may have been a tornado. In Morrison County an 81 mile per hour wind gust was reported at Bowlus with trees down, many fields damaged and gardens flattened. More damage reported in Crow Wing, Todd and Cass County where Crow Wing Power said power was still out this morning in areas around Brainerd/Baxter up through Staples. Trees struck cars and houses between Motley to Pillager and over to Brainerd. Street flooding reported in Morrison and other counties. Heavy rain totals of 2-5 inches in areas last night. The Morrison County Airport reported 3.14 inches of rain, Little Falls Radio had over two inches of rain from yesterday storms. More storms, with some being on the strong side are possible again later today.
