People got a chance to see the Stanley Cup Sunday at the Hockey House in Brainerd. The cup was brought for a tour of the area by Glenn “Chico” Resch, who was the goaltender for the New York Islanders when they won the Stanley Cup championship in 1980. The tradition of each Stanley Cup winning player spending a day with the trophy did not begin until 1994 so that is why Resch had to wait so long. The Stanley Cup is awarded each year to the NHL champions.
