The Swanville School District announced they are planning a school referedum vote on November 3rd. The Board compiled information to present to the public regarding the school’s funding, its levy compared to other area schools’ and the tax impact the referendum would have on property owners. Just to break even with rising costs due to inflation, school funding would need to increase by an extra $283 per pupil. Swanville’s current school property taxes, at $349 for a $100,000 property, are lower than the local average of $362 and the state average of $352. The proposed referendum would add about $81 annually in taxes for the same $100,000 property. A public meeting regarding the referendum is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23rd  at 7:00pm at the Swanville school.
